It's a quick read, and one I've been meaning to do for a long time. I'd read a review over a decade ago that, as squeaky-clean as Sally Field's Gidget was, the real book was something completely different, but it wasn't until I was in Southern California for a week this summer that I finally got around to it. And then it took me nearly a month to finish anyway, because immediately after leaving SoCal, I moved cross-country.
